Experiencing Interruptions?

This is not a guitar

In this mesmerizing cinematic experience, virtuoso guitarist Artur Miranda Azzi shatters the conventions of classical guitar, reinventing the instrument as a dynamic medium for avant-garde experimentation. Through six bold and innovative performances of contemporary works, Azzi dismantles traditional techniques, transforming the guitar into a living, evolving entity—one that defies expectations at every turn.

Each piece—composed by groundbreaking artists Arthur Kampela, Johanes Kreidler, Michael Maierhof, Jens-Peter Ostendorf, Simon Steen-Andersen, and Caio Campos—receives a striking visual treatment that mirrors its musical architecture. The result is a hypnotic fusion of sound and imagery, where plucked strings morph into abstract landscapes, and every note becomes a brushstroke in an ever-shifting sonic canvas.
More than a concert film, this is an exploration of identity, transformation, and the limitless possibilities of an instrument in flux. With its nonlinear narrative and fluid aesthetic, the film invites audiences to reimagine the guitar—not as a static object, but as a mutant, ever-changing force.
A must-see for lovers of contemporary music, experimental art, and boundary-pushing performances, this film captures the guitar’s radical reinvention—one breathtaking note at a time.
