Once upon a time, maybe in Babel, people thought they could play god. Sadly, each one of them had a completely different idea of what it means to be a god. Any way, it didn’t work.
Inspired by the multilingual chaos of Babel’s mythological tower, “the weather is normal in Babel today” is a surrealistic image puzzle game of weirdness and odity in our current reality. The phrase “the weather is normal today” spoken in several languages, forms the audio background of the video, where the concept of the “weather” is both used in straight reference of the climate change management, as well as a metaphor commenting on a severely misguided and manipulated reality, common sense, social cohesion and political status.

Director Biography - Olga Papadopoulou

Olga Papadopoulou is a visual artist. She was born in 1977. She studied painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts, in Greece. She is a member of the curatorial team of Video Art Miden (Greece). Her work mainly focuses on mixed media installations and video. She has exhibited her work in various exhibitions, site-specific projects and video art festivals in Greece and internationally.
