Bio

I am Alessio Del Pozo Temoche, audiovisual communicator, illustrator and animator; director of the present short film El sonido del sol. I have made 4 animated student short films, the ones with which I have had the honor of been selected and winning in some international and national film festivals. With “Ella”, for Best National Animation at the Ajayu International Animation Festival and Best National Fiction at the Cortos de Vista University Festival. And with a quarantine animated short film “Dimensiones”, winner of the jury prize in Longdistance Film festival and jury mention in Festival Internacional de cine Luz del desierto. In addition to independent work, I have been part of the team for the production of the feature film Watched, at the Apus studio. About other projects, I have been developing an animated series for children, Adventures in the park, with which I have been the winner of the project mentoring at Animaperú 2019, which selected me for the feedback tables of Festival Chilemonos, with Disney and Discovery kids. I have also been a finalist in a pitch for state funding, which I am currently pursuing.
My career in the world of animation began, without realizing it, as a child. I was impressed by learning how cartoons were made, and for fun I was trying it, on paper, then learning programs. However, I did not take it as a possible career in the reality in which I lived. But my passion for films, stories and animation did not stop growing. My taste for science led me to study engineering. But, I never stopped watching films and drawing. One day, as if it were a switch going on, the idea came to me that animation was a possible job. After a very difficult decision, so much so that the word falls short, I abandoned my engineering career to start studying what I was passionate about. And now, I can't imagine giving up on animation and film.
