I was born in 1988 in Rasht, a city nestled in the north of Iran. I pursued my studies in Chemical Engineering at the University of Tehran, followed by a degree in Petroleum Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Turin.
My journey into filmmaking began back in Iran. In 2008–2009, I attended filmmaking courses at the Iranian National Youth Cinema Center, where I had the privilege of learning from masters like Abbas Mehranfar. This experience paved the way for me to join a workshop led by the legendary Abbas Kiarostami, titled How to Make a Simple Film. It was there that my first idea and short film, Spider, was born—a moment that felt nothing short of magical. The act of creating something from nothing, especially when you believe in Auteur Cinema, is an experience that remains unforgettable.
At its core, this film is a meditation on the profound relationship between human emotion and the natural world. When the boy finds no solace at home, he seeks it among the trees, the rivers, and the whispering winds—places untouched by judgment, where healing is not a demand but an invitation.
I have always believed that nature has an inherent capacity to mirror our innermost struggles and, at times, offer answers that words cannot. Through this film, I want to explore how isolation can transform into introspection, how rejection can lead to rebirth, and how, sometimes, the most powerful dialogue exists in silence.
My approach to storytelling draws heavily on visual poetry, where landscapes speak as loudly as characters, and silence becomes a canvas for raw emotion. Inspired by the works of Kiarostami and Tarkovsky, I intend for this film to move not just through narrative, but through atmosphere and mood—an experience that invites the audience to wander and heal alongside the protagonist.
This is not just the boy's journey; it is an exploration.
