A Swedish writer, producer, director, editor and cinematographer based in Helsinki, Finland. Studied screenwriting and directing at Arcada - University of Applied Sciences. Wrote, directed and edited four short films at Arcada, and after graduating has written and directed two independent productions - Then & Now and the upcoming See me.
During the autumn of 2020 I started toying around with the idea of writing a relationship-drama, but I wanted to challenge myself in a way that I hadn't done up until that point - that's when I realised that a great challenge for me would be to write a script that would have no dialogue at all, and just tell the story visually. Three years later I decided that it was time to make it into a movie.
This was a very interesting project in that I made my debut as a cinematographer. The reason I wanted to be the cinematographer, in addition to writing, producing, editing and directing, was because I wanted to have the smallest crew possible with as few distractions as possible. That also meant only shooting with natural light sources and no chief lighting technician. I also wanted to be the cinematographer because I knew exactly what I wanted the movie to look like, and what the style was going to be.
Even though it was a heavy movie, we managed to keep a very light set where there was a lot of laughing, joking around and just a casual atmosphere. Even though there were moments during filming and post-production where I was afraid that I had failed with what I set out to do, I can look at the finished product and honestly say that I'm very proud of it.
