Director Biography - Lucas Rebelo

Nascido e criado na Amazônia Brasileira. Sua carreira começou em 2018 quando ajudou a produzir vídeos-dança. Desde 2019, produz e divulga seus próprios vídeos.
Born and raised in Brazilian Amazonia. His career begun in 2018, when he helped to produce some dance-videos. Since 2019, he produces and releases his own videos.

Director Statement

Vídeo-poema em homenagem a Edith Södergran, que faleceu há 100 anos em 24-6-1923. Filmado inteiramente no Rio Grande do Norte pouco antes da pandemia. O curioso é que eu não tinha noção do que fazer com as filmagens, só filmava qualquer coisa. Apenas dois anos depois, em 2022, li um poema em inglês chamado "The Great Garden", de uma poetisa filandesa chamada Edith Södergran, e fiquei com vontade de filmar o poema. E foi somente no ano seguinte que traduzi o poema pro Português e tive a ideia de juntar tudo e produzir esse curta.

Video-poem made in homage to Edith Södergran, that died 100 years ago in 24-6-1923. Filmed entirely in Rio Grande do Norte state shortly before the pandemic. The curious thing is that I had no idea what to do with the footage, I just filmed whatever. Just two years later, in 2022, I read a poem in English called "The Great Garden" by a Finnish poet named Edith Södergran, and I wanted to film the poem. And it was only the following year that I translated the poem to Portuguese and had the idea of putting everything together and producing this short film.
