The calling of Trebbia
The Trebbia valley is the home of one of the few rivers still uncontaminated in Italy and Europe, the Trebbia River. The inhabitants of the valley have played over the years a fundamental role in the preservation of this ecosystem by saving the river and its tributaries from the constant threat of the construction of new dams and hydroelectric plants which, had they been completed, would have destroyed this natural environment. The calling of Trebbia is a bike-rafting trip to discover an uncontaminated and wild valley with green ridges and winding canyons crossed by stunning emerald waters. It is the story of an adventure, discovery and resistance that leaves the audience with the inspiration to act, the courage to fight for their land and the environment while showing the potential of ecotourism as an alternative sustainable economic development.
