Federico is an Italian director and journalist. He studied screenwriting and directing at the Turin Cinema District and made several videos for local newspapers and businesses. He reviews films for the newspaper he works for. He has been sent to the Torino Film Festival for several consecutive years.
It all stems from an original story by Patrizio Righero, “Allo scoccare delle 18”, that retraces the daily actions of two elderly people waiting for an event. In February, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine hit public opinion around the world and led many artists to question the consequences. It has brought back the ancient fear of nuclear power, that of being hit from a great distance with no escape. We therefore decided not to focus on the reason for wait but on how it is lived, in particular in the intimate relationship formed over the years in an elderly couple. That relationship that makes a tragic wai studded with daily actions and a quiet intimacy.
