While on the Waterford Institute of Technology and Nemeton TV postgraduate course, well known Clare musician Caoimhe Morrissey from Ennis decided to make the beautiful heart warming documentary 'Guth an Cheoil'. Her co-producer and editor Andrew O Leary was at the heart of a number of highly acclaimed films including his short documentary ‘An Peileadóir’. about six-time All-Ireland winning Cork Ladies Footballer Orla Finn. Andrew is now working with Nemeton TV.
Along with the other imaginative films from this year’s course, 'Guth an Cheoil' recieved rapturous applause at its premiere in Dungarvan and the filmmakers now look forward to a TG4 screening.
The film explores how music therapy is having a powerful effect in the lives of those with additional needs. On the emotive journey we meet inspirational young James who is living with Downs Syndrome and learn about how his family are benefiting from the therapy that Minimusos offer.
