Experiencing Interruptions?

The Valley of Dawn

The people who live in the Valley of Dawn in Brazil believe they originate from the Planet Capela and that the fabulous and outrageous clothes they wear connect them to their interplanetary spirit guides. Does the energy of this tribe and their exotic and glamorous costumes really lead to a whole new spiritual life? Adrienne Grierson finds the answer in the most eccentric and colorful religion on earth.

Director Statement

Brazil and in particular the area around Brasilia plays host to a plethora of spiritual centres. As a free thinking agnostic and a lover of fine attire I found The Valley of Dawn extremely compelling. A religion started by a woman and where women have an equality with men, I wanted to write a fable that would highlight some universal truths and perhaps allow us to look at ourselves and how we view our rituals a little differently.
