The Unseen Shore
I could never bring my mother back. But I could write, imagine, and see her again, hear and talk to her. Kaanada Kadalu wasn’t just about telling a story. It was a way of healing. When Arjun speaks, it’s me speaking. When he aches, it’s my ache. And in the silence between father and son, there is everything I have felt but never said.
This film is for my mother. It’s for my father. It’s for every memory that stays with us, for the unseen shores we long to return to, and for the truth that what’s gone isn’t always far—sometimes, it’s the closest thing we have left.

This isn’t just a film. It’s a piece of me. It’s not made for entertainment but as an expression of everything I hold close.
There were days I was convinced I couldn’t make this film, and then moments when I’d tell myself I should. This back-and-forth went on at least 30 times. But on the 31st, something shifted, I told myself, “I have to.” And that’s why this film exists.
