Actors Chandler Riggs (The Walking Dead) and Xavier Jimenez (The Mandalorian) decided to drop all other projects and start a production company with their combined expertise in film/television. Over the last year, they've been building out lights, cameras, lenses, audio equipment, etc. and gaining multitudes of both pre-production and post-production knowledge so they can produce their passion projects with a minimal budget - doing most (if not all) of the legwork just between the two of them.
This short is such a satisfying result of our combined efforts. We had done pre-production with camera/lens/light tests in our living room, and rented out the local bar to shoot it. We shot it ourselves, one of us on A-cam, the other on B-cam - operating, pulling focus, running sound, and directing - all at the same time, all with our own gear.
It was incredibly fulfilling having that on-set experience while being able to tell a relatable, captivating story. Alex thinks she's alone while her inner-demons torture her through this date - telling her she's saying the wrong thing, or that Jake hates her - a level of self-consciousness everyone has experienced before one way or another.
At the end of the day, that's why we do what we do. We want to tell stories people can connect and identify with, and hope that this is the start of a long career where we get to do that every single day.
