Amalia Williamson is a rising talent in Toronto’s film industry, known for her heartfelt storytelling and creative vision. Deeply inspired by fairy tales, comedy, and romance, Amalia channels her passion for filmmaking into stories that explore complex characters in emotionally rich scenarios. With a natural flair for whimsy and wit, she brings a unique voice to every project she undertakes.
Her background as a successful actor—best known for her work in acclaimed television series like Northern Rescue, Sullivan’s Crossing, Letterkenny, and Bria Mack Gets a Life—has given
her a strong foundation in performance and character development, which now informs her work behind the camera. Her love for both comedy and drama is evident in her work as a filmmaker.
A valedictorian graduate from Sheridan College’s Bachelor of Film and Television program Amalia distinguished herself early on as both a writer and director. Over the course of her studies, she created more than 10 short films and earned the Best Director award in her third year. Now nearly a decade into a thriving career in the industry, Amalia has recently shifted her focus toward directing and producing.
In 2023, her creative talents were recognized when she was commissioned to write and produce a national commercial for Canadian Blood Services. Most recently, she collaborated with Austen Alexander on a social media mini-series that has garnered over 20 million views across just five videos.
Whether evoking laughter or tears, Amalia’s keen attention to detail and intuitive sense of storytelling make her films deeply resonant with audiences. Her work reflects a profound understanding of human connection—and she’s just getting started.
