Corey Davis, known creatively as Corey Dvisionary, is an award-winning independent filmmaker whose work explores characters who feel different from the world around them. A graduate of Clayton State University and founder of CD Player Productions, Davis has spent over a decade building a body of work that spans short films, documentaries, and festival-recognized projects.
His journey began with humble, experimental videos that would later become part of his documentary The Corey Davis Evolution Story, a raw reflection of his growth from uncertain beginnings to a filmmaker with a distinct voice. Influenced by visionary directors like David Lynch, Davis blends surreal elements with grounded human stories, creating films that linger in the mind long after viewing.
With multiple festival selections and awards to his name, Davis continues to carve out a space in the independent film world, proving that passion and persistence matter more than mainstream validation. His mission is simple: to tell stories that challenge perspectives, spark conversation, and remind audiences that even those who feel like outsiders have a place in cinema.
I tell stories about outsiders—characters who don’t quite fit into the world around them, but who carry a truth worth exploring. That perspective comes from my own life, and filmmaking has always been the way I transform that feeling into art.
My work blends surreal, dreamlike elements with grounded human struggles, drawing inspiration from visionary filmmakers like David Lynch while remaining rooted in authenticity. I want audiences to be entertained, but also challenged to see life from new angles.
At its core, my filmmaking is about persistence and passion, not Hollywood validation. Every project I create is part of my evolution, and my mission is simple: to give voice to those who feel different, and to show that being an outsider can be its own kind of power.
