Born in Rome, Italy, Leonardo "Lenny" Di Lorenzo is a London based photographer and filmmaker who has followed the steps of his Grandfather (a Director Of Photography in movies and documentaries) after being trained as a composer and musician and working as a music composer/producer since the age of 21. Later in life, his meeting with photographer and now friend Mark Edwards OBE (Hard Rain Project, Christiania) has also contributed to furthering his knowledge and artistic taste in image creation.
Lenny is a represented Fine Art photographer by the Galerie Goutal in Aix En Provence, France.
Over time, he has handled important responsibilities and image creation assignments, including being hired to photograph President George W. Bush in a formal private setting in 2022, Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo in 2024 and capturing million dollar budget live events at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Clients and institutions he has worked with and has been published by include Trustpilot (International), Pacific Dental Services/PDS Health (USA Nationwide), The Times (UK), Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club (UK), Boulevard Theatre Soho (UK), Mo Coppoletta Design (UK/ Italy), Mazzoli Italian Design (Italy/France), Bar Italia Soho (London), Haringay Mayor Lester Buxton (London), Luxury London Magazine, Mayfair Life Magazine, L’Escargot Restaurant (London), Sous Chef (International), Gaga Laboratorio (UK/Switzerland), Fortune Magazine.
His fine art photography work has developed itself through the admiration for the imagery of the great Italian film directors Federico Fellini, Ettore Scola and Mario Monicelli, as well as the artistic education he absorbed in the family environment.
This film was inspired by some of the stunning landscapes of the UK coast, where the shipwrecks and general moody atmosphere can generate all kinds of ideas for motion picture inside an imaginative mind. So I have found my original idea by using the natural "set" before my eyes and developing a different angle on the classic Mermaids theme.
This film has many layers, but it is ultimately a condemnation of the world we currently live in, where darkness and corruption seem to dominate the narrative.
The relationship with my absent Father played a very important role in the making of this film, as it shaped the dialogue and psychological dynamics of the interactions between the characters.
