Director Statement

As a first-time feature filmmaker, embarking on "The Serenade Charade" has been an inspiring and enriching experience. Having spent the past five years working on short films, I was immediately drawn to this project by its intricate story and deeply layered characters. When Ryan, the writer and producer approached me, I knew this was a story I wanted to help bring to life, and I knew exactly what I wanted the audience to feel.

Collaborating with our talented leads, Diana Garle and Keeley Bright, was a journey of discovery and creativity. We dedicated weeks to exploring the depths of their characters, understanding their psychology and motivations. It was especially meaningful for me to work on a female-led project, contributing to greater representation in the industry and telling powerful stories that address important issues like mental health.

One of the unique aspects of this project is that we completed it in just five production days. This was the major challenge and what allowed our leads to shine, since the film focuses on both of them and their performances are constantly engaging, this is why our preparation leading to the film was key for the success of the final product.

From the moment I read the script, I had a clear vision for the film's tone. I knew the exact music, shots and even color palette I wanted, creating a cohesive and harmonious piece, like a symphony where every element fit together perfectly.

"The Serenade Charade" is a project that reflects the passion and dedication of everyone involved. I am incredibly proud of what we have created and hope that it will resonate with audiences, sparking meaningful conversations about the themes it explores.
