“The Scottish Wind of Lermontov” 2019.
For the first time, the name of M. Yu. Lermontov was tied to the Scottish Lermonts in 1837, when William Rolston's article “Scotland abroad” appeared in the Scottish press. But the poet knew about it initially, prophetically. Lermontov had many poems about Scotland. Later, Lermontov’s connection with the Scottish Lermontov family was repeatedly confirmed by scientists and Lermontov scholars, but for some reason no one in the world of cinema covered this topic.
Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov all his life sought to rest, but at the same time he lived in constant disharmony, often overwhelmed by passions. Maxim Privezentsev decided to go on a motorcycle to the historical homeland of the poet's ancestors to answer the main question: how did the mixture of Scottish and Russian blood create such a strong and ingenious volcano of contradictions in Lermontov's soul?
Why motorcycles? The answer is simple. Lermontov all his life was in constant motion. This state is known to anyone who has ever traveled. But people traveling on a motorcycle, know about the state of movement like nobody else. A headwind, smells of those places that here and now give the traveler a new page of this world and an inexhaustible desire to rush forward for new sensations.
What motivated Lermontov in search of a kind? Is it only the desire to establish itself in noble birth? Or did Lermontov feel the gene of the motherland? What would happen to Lermontov if he was in his second homeland? Would he have long-awaited peace? Or is peace only possible in a storm, on the road and in motion? Maxim will try to find answers to these questions.
The result of the trip will be a documentary and the book “The Scottish Wind of Lermontov”.
