Director Biography - Alkistis Voulgari

Alkistis Voulgari was born in Athens, Greece. She is an actress and dancer, specialising in the dance technique of Isadora Duncan.

For the last three years she has been experimenting with her own film and performance creations, incorporating theatre, poetry, literature, dance and radio art.

Her work has been presented internationally.

Alkistis is gradually visualising and working on the reconnection of theatre with its natural roots through improvisation and exploration of the primitive idea in an open natural space where the film camera becomes the 'director's eye' and an eternal narrative of theatrical, performative, human and life experience.

Guest of honor - biography : Arvind Pare has been teaching classes in Yoga Philosophy in Gokulam, Mysore since 2013. His evening sessions on Bhagavad-Gita and weekly talks on yoga-related topics are very popular among students. Prior to this, he lived for 15 years in ashrams learning Vedanta from his teacher Swami Dayananda Saraswati of Arsha Vidya Gurukulam.

Arvind has masters degree in Engineering and Business Administration from USA where he spent 12 years. His effective use of language and adherence to traditional methods of teaching allows him to communicate most complex concepts to his students, who range from beginners to yoga teachers.

Meeting Arvind Pare was one of the most significant moments of my trip to India. I felt that someone was generously offering me treasures of knowledge and virtue beyond time and space. I will always be grateful to Aditya Damani for bringing us all together for this exceptional interview.
