Director Statement

For me this project was about reaching the end of a chapter of life and starting a new one. The film serves as a testament to the small area where I grew up, and the universal dilemma all young people face when they are fully confronted with the question: “What’s next?”

Both characters in the story face defining moments as they attempt to navigate change, relationships, and all that comes with leaving (or not leaving) the place where they grew up. In many ways I went through this period of life alongside my characters: I wrote the film during my last years of high school, shot it the summer after I graduated, and finally finished post production during my Freshman year of college.
