The Red painted shoes

Charlie, an inspiring artist, wakes up from a nightmare of becoming "The girl with the red dancing shoes ". As she falls in her dream, she wakes and uses the nightmare as an inspiration for her painting. Bailiffs "hired " by her landlord come to forcefully evict her but she defends herself. Charlie remembers that Guido, her deceased father's close friend offers her to live rent free in exchange for sex, she declined and promised to pay. Charlie returns to her work, using her trauma as an inspiration and believing that she will succeed.

Director Biography - Lucia Edwards

Lucia trained in both CSSD and Lee Strasberg Institute as an actor and had a successful career in both film and theatre.She's been a collaborator on many projects, producing and creating the content for plays ( The power of love at The Courtyard theatre), short films and TV pilot The Emperor about Mary Vetsera to name a few. She enjoys creating powerful and fun female characters and after not been able to find the right female director that would fulfil her vision of the film, she decided to direct it herself .

Director Statement

I've made this film to show any woman that no matter what happens in your life, do not play a victim and stand your ground .
There is no better feeling that self-empowerment rather then compromising your integrity. Red shoes represents violence and abuse against women and this film is about standing up to it.
