The Pursuit of Truth
Anna Carey, a junior reporter at a small New York City newspaper, uncovers a shady deal between a prominent businessman and a state senator. When she realizes the potential of her findings, she steps down a dark path of blackmail and treachery, abandoning everything she once stood for as a journalist, and letting greed blind her to the truth.

Devan Sakaria is only 17 years old, but he's had a full decade of experience with a camera in his hands. Whether it was messing around with a few friends, to spending a full year on a 20-minute documentary, Devan has tried to expose himself to as many different genres of filmmaking. "The Pursuit of Truth" is his fourth sub-10-minute film, and was created as his high school senior project.
This film was created for school as my high school senior project, but it's a film that I had been wanting to create for a while. Since watching Christopher Nolan's early films, the idea of creating a dark, neo-noir-esque story modeled after the likes of "Following" and "Memento" stuck in my mind. This was one of the lowest-budget films I've created, but it also has the highest production value, marking a developmental milestone in my career for lighting, cinematography, and writing.
