Director Statement

I wrote and directed The Pursuer after being inspired by my experiences of working many long, sometimes frustrating, days/nights in the shed with my father. While we share a strong connection, there are always those moments of comfort and conflict with many “hold that torch still” interactions over the years. In making this film, my goal here was to immerse the viewer in the feelings that Damon experiences as he comes face to face with this presence. I aimed to highlight the fear that can come in isolation. By mixing my personal stories with other common themes, I hope to leave audiences reflecting on their relationships with family, friends, and those unknowns and fears that sometimes seem to constantly pursue us.
