Director Biography

Kandice Smith is a first-time female writer, director and producer who partnered with her church (Kingdom Life Ministries) and produced a number of original faith-based Stage Plays for audiences within the Greater Toronto Area.

Smith's interest in film began in 2013, when she wrote and directed a film trailer to promote her Stage Play "Favour Ain't Fair". It was then when she became inspired to write her first screenplay titled The Protégé.

Smith may not have had many years of experience in writing and directing films, however; she is a lady with a vision and has the will power to see it be fulfilled. The journey to write and direct The Protégé did not come without its challenges but she is grateful to have worked with an amazing cast and crew who allowed her vision to truly come to light!
