Experiencing Interruptions?

The Promposal

High school “loser” Cooper Dalinsky is a Senior and has never been to a school dance, instead choosing to spend time with his best friends Charlie (The class clown) and Seline (his nerdy crush) playing board games and eating Hot Pockets. But this year, Seline wants to go to Prom, and Cooper (after a little deliberation) embarks on a plan to finally ask her out. To ensure his success, Cooper and Charlie carry out the greatest promposal plan ever made, filled with Hot Pockets, questionable strategy, and a British robbery? But asking Seline out isn’t as easy as Cooper thought. Through the ups and downs of the prom season, The Promposal is a memorable and funny adventure about the difficulties of high school relationships, and finding who we are as we grow up and say goodbye to the last year of high school.

Director Biography - Kiana Everett, Edison Peng, Forrest Jensen, Cade Carcione

Kiana Everett -
Inspired to go the distance and create a full-length film for SHPTV, Kiana Everett didn’t hesitate to join the SHPTV leadership team at Sacred Heart as an incoming Junior, and take up the role of lead producer and a director for The Promposal. From being a head writer on the script to directing to organizing the incredible team of people working on this project, Kiana is incredibly proud to have worked night and day to bring this massive production to life, and witness all the love and dedication that has been poured into it through every actor, director, and production member. Now a Senior, Kiana continues to participate in SHP’s Drama program, and continues to work on storytelling projects for SHPTV as a leader, including its very own sitcom, and is excited for what lies ahead!

Edison Peng -
Edison Peng led SHPTV during his time at Sacred Heart Prep and helped launch its first-ever short film, The Inside Job. The project inspired him to direct a full-length feature, starting the script as a Junior and bringing it to life Senior year. Known for his shorts and comedic skits like “The Phone” and “How Sweethearts Were Made”, Edison helped build SHPTV’s reputation for creative, student-driven storytelling. He is now at Northwestern University, pursuing a dual degree in Economics and Voice & Opera.

Forrest Jensen -
Forrest Jensen found a love for filmmaking and storytelling in his early years. Starting off with silly LEGO stop-motion animation in 3rd grade on old tape camcorders, to creating book reports turned into videos in middle school and high school. He found a group of friends who sought to make a short film for their high school filmmaking class final project. It was a big success in their eyes, but the memories, stories, and laughter from these experiences were his inspiration for helping middle school and high school students create videos in the same fashion.

Currently a teacher at Sacred Heart Preparatory, he lives to champion students in setting a high bar for video creation and storytelling. Focusing on the philosophy of it's not just about what you make, but about how you make it and who you create it with. He believes that, while making videos, you learn way more about life as a whole than just video creation. Since working at SHP, Forrest has helped produce The Inside Job, a 36-minute short film, and The Promposal, a feature film. Both films have been created with original screenplays and fully produced by students at the school.

Cade Carcione -
After acting in Sacred Heart's first film, The Inside Job, Cade didn't hesitate to hop on the writing and direction team for The Promposal as a Senior. Previous credits include acting in high school theater, writing for the school newspaper, and collaboratively directing the creation of an improv-based radio show. The Promposal was his first time collaborating on a long script, not to mention being attached to any production, film or otherwise, for the better part of a year and a half. From writing to casting to working with actors to sound designing, Cade's grateful to have had the opportunity to work with so many amazing people and be part of the collective, insane rubber-band-ball of willpower it took to make this movie happen. Cade is now a student at NYU's Playwrights Horizons Theater school, where he'll certainly continue writing, collaborating, and creating.
