Director Biography - Sammy Garcia III

I was a 24 going on 25-year-old college student who made his first film last spring and had it condensed down to 5 minutes. Now I have over 20 minutes of a wonderful film.

As filmmakers we all know that even when you finish a film, you're never really finished. Always in the back of your mind you see something that could've fit in well, or tied it in a little more, or added a little more depth. Well, that was me, after countless edits and additional footage I can say this is a documentary I'm proud of. It started off as a personal film about my dad but then as months went on I saw that it was evolving into something more, something that his generation went through and can also understand. So this film is a film for all Chicano's who knew and understood this life growing up. THIS IS FOR YOU.
