Experiencing Interruptions?

The Picture

In the apartment of an unforgiving city, Juan appears, after three decades of absence, looking for answers. Faced with a woman who has lived under the weight of social expectations, the encounter triggers a tense dialogue full of recriminations and hidden truths. As their wounds are revealed, they both confront a society that has shaped and judged them, revealing a shared pain. However, a lack of acceptance and fear of being who they really are stand in their way. In a heartbreaking denouement, the hope of understanding vanishes, making it clear that, sometimes, love and forgiveness are impossible in a world that offers no refuge.

Director Biography - Enrique Corrales Rodríguez

When I was four years old I started taking dance classes, and since I don't leave anything halfway, I finished my Spanish Dance Degree. I worked as a dancer in companies such as Antonio Canales, Rafael Amargo, Luisillo, etc...
After a tour of Spain as a dancer and choreographer, I felt the need to express myself verbally and decided to expand my studies and start with Dramatic Art.
I have studied acting in schools such as La Lavandería, La Base, Central de Cine, Estudio Juan Codina, Estudio Interactivo, Centro del actor, Centro Actúa...
On television, I have participated in "El secreto de Puente viejo", "Amar en tiempos revueltos", "Un paso adelante" and "El atasco".
On the internet I have participated, among others, in the web series "Tarados+dos" and in "La Supercafetera" for which I was nominated for best supporting actor at the Rome Web Festival.
In theatre I have worked in more than thirty professional productions as an actor, assistant director or choreographer.
I have been very lucky to have toured the Spanish, Colombian, Mexican, American, German, Chilean and Argentinian geography. In 2024 I decided to shoot my first short film as a director "La fotografía".

Director Statement

"The Photography" not only addresses the societal pressures faced by LGBTQ+ communities, but also the way these patterns affect everyone in our society, including those who perpetuate oppression.
I have long observed that society imposes rigid standards of "normalcy" that exclude many, especially gay people. However, in delving deeper into this topic, I have also come to the conclusion that oppressors are, in turn, victims of a system that requires them to comply with unattainable ideals of perfection, beauty, power, and correctness. This duality is fundamental to understanding the complexity of our reality.
Through "Photography", I seek to make this interconnection visible: how both oppressed and oppressors suffer under the weight of these expectations. I want viewers to reflect on the need to build a more inclusive and compassionate society, where authenticity and diversity are celebrated rather than repressed. The process of creation has been profoundly enriching. I have worked with a committed team that shares this vision and together we have faced the challenges involved in addressing such a delicate and complex issue. I hope that, by watching "The Photography", you can feel the urgency and passion behind this story. I would love to hear your impressions and how it resonates with you. I appreciate your time and support. I am convinced that, through art, we can open spaces for dialogue and generate positive change.
