The Peacock's Dance

What are you willing to do for a dance? John Lamb has been harshly criticizing the libertine behavior of Herodias, second wife of the powerful Antipas. Tired of the constant attacks, Herodias takes advantage of the ascendancy that his daughter Salome has over is husband to get what she wants. Salome promises Antipas to dance for him and in exchange she will have John's head. Salomè deceives John by inviting him to her parents' house and, after a moment of initial indifference, she is seized by a sudden sexual impulse towards him. After a few vain attempts to kiss John, Salome goes mad and kills him, finally managing to obtain that kiss: and here is the head of John Lamb.
