Charlie Ainsworth is a Deaf filmmaker based in Austin, TX. After graduating from Gallaudet University with degrees in Theatre Arts and History, he founded an independent film company, Angry Deaf People Productions. With a love for Sci-Fi and time travel, he wrote and directed The Pastman - the first film of Angry Deaf People in partnership with another Deaf company, Copper & Water. This film was selected for several film festivals including Shanghai International Deaf Film Festival where the lead actress won an award for the best actress. He continues to write more films and is producing two upcoming films - Life, Captioned and A Mild Nuisance A Deaf Being Must Endure Whilst Ordering Food. While he loves producing and directing, his true passion lies in screenwriting and he aims to create a large hub of deaf screenwriters using his film company. Here’s to time travel, aliens, and mind-boggling Sci-Fi stories!
