The Other Half

(English version below)
-
-
The story is told across nine screens. After yet another misunderstanding with her girlfriend, a girl writes her thoughts in her diary: she tells what it means for her to love, accept yourself and face your fears, while remembering all those moments of carefree and suffering that she spent with her girlfriend.

The Other Half is a dramatic and romantic story at the same time, inspired by the technical and visual structure of the first cinematographic experiments of the Polish director Zbigniew Rybczynski (New Book, 1975). At one point in the short, seven screens disappear and only two screens remain, which will merge towards the center and gradually widen to cover the entire screen in a 16:9 aspect ratio (1920x1080). From here on the short will continue on a single full screen. With the subdivision into screens I made sure that the two protagonists never see each other together on one screen, precisely to represent their distance and their fears, a wall that is sometimes difficult to break down. Only in the end will they see each other on a single screen, because they have found a point in common, of strength towards each other.
