When Lester Landon, a dyslexic criminal working for a dodgy watch dealership, decides on "the straight and narrow" he is tasked with one last job before he is set free. Time is running out as the ghosts of his past are coming back to haunt him.

Director Biography - Daniel Shehata

Daniel Shehata is an aspiring Austrian writer and director. At a very early age he discovered his passion for Tim Burton's Batman (1989) which ultimately made him study English and American Studies at the University of Innsbruck where he focused on script writing. On the 23rd of February 2023 Daniel graduated with a distinction from a Master's Program for film directing at London's Raindance Film School where he won the Best Postgraduate Student Prize. His debut project The Nautilus Mutiny (2022) is a standalone - film noire - proof of concept showing his unique vision for a film that deals with the crazy world of luxury watch collecting, illiteracy, and crime - a story that could only be told by him.

Director Statement

With my work I aim to give more people a similar experience that I felt when I first watched Layer Cake (2004). I love creating films that not only entertain on a surface level but feature a deep, multi-faceted experience of moral complexity and character depth.
