The Nature of Beauty

The Nature of Beauty

Wild Beauty: Ode to BC Women during Covid

The rugged west coast of British Columbia naturally bears special women. They are fearless and unapologetically themselves, they face challenges head-on. Their connection to nature coexists with their urban, mechanical and tech-savvy side, creating a hands-on and harmonious approach to life. They have a natural outer beauty and an honest inner beauty.

The covid pandemic forced us all into isolation, where many West coasters took to embracing solitude and finding resilience in the repetition of time in nature and on the seas. West coast women are powerful forces, ready to confront life's obstacles with femininity, self-dependence and strength.

This is my homage to BC women, my friends, my sisters.
This is a portrait of West Coast Beauty to me.

Director Statement

A byproduct of living in this city in nature we call Vancouver is a certain type of woman. They are are fearless, unapologetic, resilient, self-sufficient, urban, hands-on, feminine, naturally beautiful inside and out.

During the pandemic we shot this short about covid in the west coast. Highlighting BC’s version of embracing the isolation and being out in our rugged nature, which we are blessed to have as our backyard. This is a vignette of those rinse and repeat days and my homage to BC women, my friends, my family.
