Director Biography - Sam Morgan

Sam Morgan grew up in Massachusetts and began making films with his cousins at age eight. He moved to LA, and truly started to pursue filmmaking at age nineteen, when he joined Spectrum Laboratory and co-wrote the award-winning short horror film HOUSE OF MASKS. To date, HOM has earned accolades from the prestigious Marvels of Media Film Festival at New York City's Museum of the Moving Image, plus an honorable mention at the Nassau Film Fest and a nomination for Best Short Film in the Diabolical Horror Film Fest.

Around the same time as HOM production, Sam began ideating on a film that he could call his own, which is THE MOST TERRIFYING MAN IN THE WORLD: a fifteen-minute passion project. Sam is now drafting a feature length horror script with Workshop 2.0 and esteemed writer Janet Tashjian.

Director Statement

My film- THE MOST TERRIFYING MAN IN THE WORLD - is the story of a man who wakes up one day and finds that everyone becomes petrified of him on sight. He can’t reach out to anybody, can’t get help from anyone, and can’t communicate with anyone, which is something that I think can resonate with people on a very primal level. This is especially true with those in the neurodiverse community, a lot of whom have spent their whole lives feeling alone and believing that, no matter what they do, people just can’t comprehend them. It's as if they exist in a separate world. As a neurodivergent artist myself, I want to tame helplessness by depicting it in a horror film.
