Director Biography - Mihajlo Vitezović

Born in Belgrade 1991, although he wanders a century up or down sometimes. Graduated in Dramaturgy at the Academy of Arts in Belgrade, currently a graduate student in Multimedia Directing at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad.

Bit of a Jack-of-all-trades, being a screenwriter, director, graphic designer and visual effects artist.

Makes strange and thought-provoking films while waiting for that jetpack old sci-fi films promised us.

Director Statement

I was always fascinated by the idea of alternate universes where the history has taken a different turn.
I was also intrigued by the TV commercials from the 80s and 90s which tell us a lot about Balkan history of the time, a period still considered controversial.
I wondered what would a commercial break look like in a world in which Yugoslavia still exists and the US do not, with Belgrade hosting the largest sports event the contry hoped for and deserved?
Using archival footage from a promo film for Belgrade’s bid for the '92 Olympics and visual effects, I dived into such a world.
