The Magic Plate

Magic Plate" is an experimental short film that weaves a symbolic tapestry of wonder and belief. Rengan, a young boy in a tribal community, stumbles upon what he believes to be a magical plate, carried by his beggar father. In a dreamlike sequence of events, Rengan takes the plate on a journey of enchantment, where reality and imagination dance in harmony. The plate becomes a conduit for surreal experiences, echoing the dreams of those he encounters. "Magic Plate" is a visual poem, a meditation on belief and the intangible, where the story is a whisper, and the magic lies in the symbolism of the plate.

Hello and welcome! My name is Sreerag, and I'm a writer and creator with a passion for storytelling. I've had the pleasure of working on a variety of projects, including the novel 'TRANSFIGURATION OF SCENTS', the visually stunning 'VANGAAYA' music video, and the thought-provoking Mournique and Monochroma short films.

As a filmmaker, I'm excited to share my work with a wider audience and am thrilled to be using FilmFreeway to do so. My short films explore complex themes and emotions, and I strive to create visually stunning works that captivate and inspire viewers. I believe that film is a powerful medium for storytelling, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to share my work with others.

Director Statement

As a director, my aim in creating a movie that explores the imaginations and thoughts of a boy who lives in a tribal village is to provide an intimate and authentic portrayal of life in such a community.My goal is to create a movie that speaks to universal themes of childhood, imagination, and the search for identity, while also providing a unique and culturally specific perspective on the human experience.

This movie is created without any support of a preallocated budget or prewritten script . Instead , it is the outcome of a more predominant search that is filmed by guiding actors through specific situations to find detailed manifestation of story inherent . The methodology devised here is more prone to an experimental one , rather than usual and repeated .
