My name is Mishel Mudryk. I'm BCFE student (final year) from Ukraine. I have written, directed, edited two films and learned a lot about filmmaking over the last two years in college. I'm also a freelance video editor since 2020. My goal is to talk about important for me topics through films and raising awareness about it. At this point, I want to talk about war in Ukraine and whole world, but there are other topics like family and self-love.
The main theme of this film is the importance of helping each other even in the darkest times, and it serves as a reminder to the audience about the russian war in Ukraine. However, it also touches on many other different things, and I believe that everyone in the audience will find something personal. While watching the film, you can fall in love with Locklight’s tea, appreciate the beauty of the Irish and Ukrainian languages and recognize the importance of preserving them, laugh at Aisling’s jokes, cry over the many Ukrainian lives lost during the war, spot some Easter eggs in the film and feel inspired to donate to the Armed Forces of Ukraine to help end this war. I admire Nolan’s style of filmmaking, where his films make you think. The Lightkeeper film aims to be one of those.
