Director Statement

In this film, we wanted to explore the concept of darkness in a unique and comedic way. We started by creating a situation where our characters are forced to navigate through a completely dark room, using only their senses and intuition to find their way. By limiting the visual element and relying heavily on sound, we aimed to immerse our audience in the experience of our characters.

We approached the filming of this movie with a documentary-style approach, using a boom pole microphone to capture the raw, unscripted dialogue of our improvising actors as they fumble around in the dark. We wanted the audience to feel like they were there in the room with the characters, experiencing their struggles and laughter as they navigate through the darkness.

Through the use of funny sound effects and witty dialogue, we aimed to create a light and humorous tone in the film, despite the darkness that surrounds our characters. Our hope is that the audience will not only be entertained but also take away a deeper appreciation for the power of sound in storytelling.

Ultimately, this movie is a celebration of improvisation, sound, and comedy. We hope that viewers will enjoy the unique experience of watching a movie that is almost entirely dark, and come away with a newfound appreciation for the importance of sound in the art of film making.
