Gilberto Ramiconi è un regista, montatore e compositore italiano. Il suo lungometraggio The Engagement 2 (2025) è stato selezionato in festival come l’Ostia Film Festival e il COLIFFE – Coliseum International Film Festival. Il cortometraggio The Widow (2023) ha invece partecipato al Ginko Film Festival 2025, dove ha ricevuto un premio.

Director Statement

I made The Life of a Shoemaker with the same intent that guided me in Mr. Lawnmower and In Anticipation of…: to show everyday life in a simple and direct way. The film recounts the day-to-day life of a shoemaker, an ancient and demanding profession that almost no longer exists. I wanted to convey the slow, laborious pace of his work and the passing of time. When I make documentaries about everyday life, I choose a contemplative and minimalist style, without dialogue: the viewer must enter into it, calmly, without mediation.
