Director Statement

There is a lot of beauty in our world, to come to an understanding of it and pass it through yourself to others - this is the true service of a creative person. And then beauty begins to change the world, to save it. Through the awareness of beauty, our world will become a better place.

From an early age, I was interested in history. In the beginning, through my grandfather's stories, I learned about my noble family and the history of the most famous people of this family: the commandant of the Peter and Paul Fortress under Peter 1, the academician who discovered photosynthesis. I found out about the besieged Leningrad, where my grandfather was from the first to the last day. All this prompted me to join the ranks of reconstruction in 1993 and immerse myself not only in the spiritual and chronicle history, but also to understand for myself the material side of that life – how heavy the pre-revolutionary overcoat is, how to sit on horseback and attack in a cavalry attack on the Borodino field. Later, after becoming a professional photographer, I began not only to keep a photographic record, but also to shoot small video clips from the life of reconstruction. And after a while, he ventured to make his own, author's movie. I wanted to convey the principles and sense of dignity that have been instilled in me since childhood. To serve our country and convey the simple truth - we live here and now thanks to the lives and exploits of past generations. And it is the connection of centuries that makes us strong and stable. I believe that history provides answers to many questions that we are still facing. You just need to look carefully and intently, and listen... To hear these answers through time…
