Director Biography - Kara Haller

Kara is a director, writer and producer originally from the suburbs of Chicago, IL but currently living in Ireland. Kara is a graduate of Chicago's Second City Training Center and studied Film Direction and Production at NUI Galway.

Director Statement

"The Letter" is based on a true story of a family friend. I wanted to make a film that showcased Galway's beauty as well as making something that paid homage to my Irish ancestors from the Irish American perspective- something so many Americans can relate to. When I discovered the story of the family friend, I couldn't get it out of my mind. I knew it was a heartfelt story that needed to be told and it was one that many can relate to.
