The Last Night

Hoi is a van driver who was a photographer before COVID-19. One day, he received a message from his ex-girlfriend Yin, who had already migrated. They met on the night before she left Hong Kong again.

After separating for a few years, the discussion on the long-forgotten love seemed to be the hidden agenda of this night. The two individuals, who had already embarked on completely different journeys in life, had to find a way out for their complicated relationship.

Director Biography - Calvin Tsang

Hello I am Calvin from Hong Kong, a former local TV reporter, who left the news industry about a year ago after experiencing the dramatic changes in Hong Kong society.

After realising that I still remembered the wonderful feeling of storytelling through images, and instead of being torn between telling the “truth” and telling “lies”, thought that I could just try to create a script that belongs to this era, through stories that seem to be fictional but are in fact real.

Director Statement

With the epidemic and the changes in society, everyone in Hong Kong may have made different decisions, maybe it's staying or leaving, maybe it's parting with someone you love, but all in a hurry over the past few years, .

In the face of choices, changes and constraints, we must believe in our choices, even if we are obsessed with them. The memories and love that have existed will not be eroded by the changes in everything, I believed.
