Writer Biography - Timothy Drake Gagliardo, Sean Crayne

Tim Gagliardo is a veteran filmmaker with over 20 years in the industry and more than 100 productions to his name, spanning feature films, television, and branded content. He is a rare triple-threat in the independent film world—deeply experienced across all three major phases of filmmaking: development, production, and post-production. With more than 10,000 hours in each discipline, Tim has built an uncommon fluency in story from concept to final cut.

In development, Tim’s screenwriting background gives him a sharp instinct for structure, pacing, and character. In production, he has served as a producer, director, and 1st Assistant Director on a wide range of projects, combining creative leadership with logistical mastery. And in post, his extensive editorial experience informs not just how he cuts, but how he shoots—thinking like an editor before the camera even rolls. This holistic perspective allows him to anticipate problems, streamline workflows, and elevate the final product in ways that few filmmakers can.

He is the writer, director, producer, and editor of Life on the Rocks, and served as location manager on the award-winning indie Ingrid Goes West. Other notable credits include Anonymous Killers, Wheels, and My True Fairytale. Across genres—from grounded drama to high-concept thriller—Tim’s work is marked by emotional authenticity, a strong visual style, and a deep respect for the collaborative spirit of filmmaking.

Known on set for his calm under pressure and his ability to bridge departments, Tim leads with empathy and clarity. He believes that filmmaking is both a privilege and a team sport, and he brings that energy to every production—whether he's running the floor, shaping a story in the edit, or developing the next idea on the page. For Tim, storytelling isn’t just a job—it’s a lifelong pursuit.
