The Last Bluesman

"The Last Bluesman" is a portrait of Cedell Davis, the last surviving bluesman from the original generation of delta blues artists, and his final recording sessions in Seattle, WA. Directed by award-winning director Tad Fettig and produced by Grammy-winning music producer Barrett Martin, the film focuses on the remarkable life of Cedell Davis and his final recording sessions with an all-star backing band of Seattle luminaries consisting of: Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees), Mike McCready (Pearl Jam), Peter Buck (R.E.M.), Duff McKagan (Guns & Roses), Ayron Jones (solo artist), Eva & Cedric Walker (The Black Tones), and various other musicians from Seattle and the Mississippi Delta.

TAD FETTIG is an award-winning director/cinematographer/producer who covers environmental, social, and spiritual issues, from shooting Liberia’s civil war to capturing the spirit of the Shipibo Shamans in Peru.

From 1993 to 2002 he was a freelance commercial producer, creating national campaigns for corporations such as Levi’s, Nike, and Northface. In 2003 he produced the feature film DOPAMINE, winner of the Alfred P. Sloane Prize at the Sundance Film Festival.

Tad created and directed the award-winning series. e2: Design, Energy, and Transport (The Economies of being environmentally conscious) for PBS/Sundance Channel/international markets. Narrated by Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman. The e2 series currently runs worldwide. He was creator and director of ECOIST (Sundance Channel), Fast Forward and CITIES (Discovery)
.
