In Elif’s eyes, these five minutes intertwine with all the memories that have brought her to this moment. As the exam ends, Elif questions not only an academic choice but also her identity and her struggle to find her own path.

I was born in 1971 in Bandırma, Balıkesir. I graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Literature, Department of Psychology in 1996. I completed my master's degree at Marmara University, Faculty of Communication, Advertising Department, with a thesis titled “Analysis of Motivational Elements Used in Advertising.” While working as a copywriter and screenwriter at an agency producing films and TV series, I was introduced to the world of cinema.
In 2000, I began working as a psychologist for the Ministry of National Education. For 25 years, I have been providing counseling and guidance as a Psychological Counselor to children aged 5-18 and their families.
"The Last 5 Minutes" explores the inner journey of a young woman, Elif, during the final moments of a pivotal exam. While external silence prevails, her mind races with memories, dreams, and the weight of expectations from society, family, and herself. This film captures the universal struggle of finding one’s identity amidst pressure, inviting viewers to reflect on their own turning points in life.
