The Invisible Crown
The Invisible Crown is an honest look into the emotional, mental, and physical consequences of living with Endometriosis. Hannah Lindgren has dealt with this disease for over half of her life. Since her diagnosis, she has seen numerous doctors, has had multiple surgeries, and tried every available treatment option. She is ready to share her story, expose systemic gender inequality in the medical system, and inspire other women to advocate for their health.
We join Hannah's journey as she prepares for another surgery. Abstract representations detail each unique and complex emotion along the way. The scratchy hospital sheets, the flurry of anxiety, the squeeze of a loved one. The hope, pain, and fear.
We explore the trauma Hannah has experienced from being systematically disbelieved by the medical system, the complicated relationship she has with her body and identity, the people who have supported her, and her steadfast pursuit for a better quality of life.

Amelia Kramer is a film, documentary, and commercial editor based in Indianapolis, Indiana. With a thoughtful and empathetic spirit, she finds herself drawn to the medium as a way to create deep feeling and explore human stories. Her passion for dance and music inform the movement and pace of her edits, and her 7+ years of experience as a photographer is the root of her visual artistry.
Amelia has edited several short films, including “Food That Saves You” and “Dreaming of You(th)”, which both were Official Selections at over 20 film festivals worldwide and received multiple Audience Choice Awards, and “Edge of June”, which premiered at the Kan-Kan Theater in Indianapolis in 2023. “The Invisible Crown” is Amelia’s directorial debut.
The Invisible Crown was born out of a desire to share feelings and experiences that are hard to put into words. As an empath and an introvert, I often feel something deeply internally and fail to express it externally. And that’s where art comes in. My hope is that this film expresses Hannah’s internal truth in a way that encourages empathy for those who don crowns of health, and holds up a therapeutic mirror for those who share her story.
