Director Statement

For over a year, we workshopped with male, female and non-binary writers, artists and performers, the concept of “abandonment”. How do we process and react to the loss of a lover? This set the grounds to adapt Jean Cocteau’s classic play “The Human Voice” and we created a virtual experience we broadcasted via Zoom for an audience of 100 people. The live experience was captured in Caracas, Venezuela and Madrid, Spain. Our goal was to explore a mix of formats, audiovisual, live theater and performing arts, to create something we could share during the pandemic. The result was an intense, personal, invasive and emotional experience that connected the performers from their own homes to audiences in theirs in 19 cities around the world. This is something we continue to research and explore. A very exciting , intimate and unique way of creating and connecting.
