Director Biography - Ted Cox

Ted Cox is a writer and director living in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where his medieval fantasy short, The Hidden Healer, is just beginning its festival run. His classic mystery feature, A Good Old-Fashioned Murder, is in post production. His script was the basis for the multi-award-winning feature Mbretëria (2017).

Peace but at what cost? At this moment in history, this is a big question. Who can I make common cause with? Who can I forgive? When is it worse to help than to hide?

I hope the Hidden Healer stimulates your thinking on these important questions.

Statement on use of AI: At the beginning of the film, generative AI was used to create several "villages" which were then disassembled in photoshop, combined with stock flame and smoke effects, and then composited onto our landscape footage to create the initial views of the war. Also, Final Cut's AI powered magic masking tool was used to isolate some of the actors for color correction purposes.
