Director Biography - Gabrielle Tougeron

Gabrielle Tougeron is a self-taught artist graduate of Classical Animation at Vancouver Film School with a background in mixing traditional mediums, specifically watercolors, acrylics, pastels, and ink.
Originally an osteopath for humans and animals, Gabrielle brings five years of anatomical knowledge to her animations, which allows her to draw strong yet delicate movements, while still respecting the subject and bringing life into her work. She also spent two years travelling the world as a crew member onboard a yacht, and stems much influence from her experiences abroad.

Director Statement

My goal was to touch all generations, about animal rights and the protection of the environment, topics that are very important to me.
The film is animated entirely on paper with hand painted watercolor backgrounds in order to feel as natural and life like as possible. It was one of the most challenging and fulfilling experiences I have ever done and I learned so much while doing it.
