Director Statement

______________________________

With "La Pecera" (The Fish Tank), I wanted to create an emotional portrait of a victim of sexual exploitation, based on a premise: there is a mental cage from which it is even more difficult to escape than the physical one. Mexico ranks second in the world for human trafficking, primarily for sexual trafficking. However, we have become so accustomed to hearing about cases of violence and abuse that it has lost the impact and weight it should have.
