Director Biography - Joe Coen

I'm a bit of a lone wolf, a one man band, a one lone wolf man band. As conceiver, creator and guy who throws it all together, my goal is to make cheap, entertaining cartoons using found material and material at hand: my original art, a scanner, a computer, and public domain images, music, and sound effects.

I have also two graphic novels under my ever expanding belt. I may have to cut back on the cheeseburgers.

Director Statement

I used almost all clip art and public domain images for this project, just to see if it could be done. Working without a net, as it were. Or more like it, working while avoiding the big men in white coats trying to catch me in a net.

Consider this toon as an experiment in a new style of editorial cartooning. I've always admired political cartoonists and think that art form could be adapted into the digital age using motion and animation.
