Troy Le, AKA his stage name "D-Dragon", is the leader of the YouTube film Group ShutterFilms and the former leader of the YouTube film group Slasher Productions. Le is and Actor, Director, Filmmaker, Youtuber , and Team leader. Troy Le was born on April 14,2000 in Sacramento CA. Le was born in a Vietnamese Buddhist family of four consisting of mom, dad, and younger brother. Le got into film and YouTube at a young age after watching TV shows in his grandparents house and visiting Universal Studios and Disneyland with his family. This sparked a flame in Le's heart to want to pursue film, but his parents were against it saying it wasn't "realistic". Since his parents wont support his film career, Le decided to pursue film on YouTube to promote his dreams on his own. With the help of his younger brother Timothy Le, the two brothers created a YouTube Film channel called Slasher Productions in 2015.The YouTube channel released a lot of film series and short films. Other than Le and his brother, the group consisted of Devin De-Santiago, Evan Turner, Ruben Zaragoza, Giovanni Paramo, Steven Vuong, and other on and off actresses/actors. The channel slowly grew and made 200 subs in 2019. Le was also viewed rapping in a boy band music video called "lonely boy" featuring Devin De-Santiago, Ruben Zaragoza, and Giovanni Paramo. In 2019, Le's brother and the former head of tech Timothy Le ,convinced Le to form a new channel. It was because they could not handle the fan drama in Slasher Productions and they felt like the fans back in slasher were no benefit to them. So therefore, in 2019 ShutterFilms was born. During The same year, ShutterFilms debuted its first series "Rent A Cops". More was supposed to be done during that time, but unfortunately Covid hit. This caused the newly born channel to go on hiatus. In 2021, Le and his former Co leader Devin De Santiago, revived the channel with additional cast members ,and the channel has been active since then. Le has also worked a variety of jobs in the security industry and was even a level 3 Tribal Police Officer for the Shingle Spring Band of Miwok Indians for 4 months, but failed his probation ,due to an HR investigation that struck his department.
Unlike most film directors, Le will act in his own films. He quotes " if I created this world, it's my right to be in it" . He's well known for playing Lieutenant Brett Johnson in Rent A Cops, Harrison Hitomi in The Dorm, And Josh Dang in The Classroom. He has also acted in short films created by Devin De Santiago and Joshua Albalos as well.
in 2022, Le won first place in the narrative section ,at the Sacramento Asian Pacific Film Festival's short film competition.
